Baby Shower Game: Baby Traits!Which baby shower game will you choose? Start with Baby Traits, the hilarious game for a baby shower that reveals what features Mom and Dad want their baby to inherit. But when it comes to baby shower games, why play just one? Discover just how much fun the baby shower you host can be! See more shower games at the bottom of this page.
Baby Traits Shower GameIf you’ve never played Baby Traits, you’re in for a real surprise. This game is perfect for co-ed baby showers because it involves both the mom and dad.To play Baby Traits, create a list (or use the pre-made game below) of personality traits and physical features that you think Mom and Dad might want to pass down to their little one.
Questions on your shower game might read something like the Themed-Party-Ideas.com Baby Traits game. For example:
Print one copy of the game for each guest and provide a pen so guests can answer how they think the future Mom and Dad will answer. Don’t let Mom or Dad see the list; keep it a surprise! After everyone has had a chance guess whether Mom or Dad will want to pass on their genes for a given trait -- or if they can't decide -- they'll pass their answer sheets to someone else at the party. Next, Mom and Dad sit back to back. Mom and Dad each have placards (sheets of paper or small posters); Mom has the word, "Mom" printed on hers, and Dad has the word, "Dad" printed on his. The host reads each question aloud. If Mom thinks she should contribute a particular trait to her baby, she raises her placard. If Dad wants to contribute that trait, he raises his. If both Mom and Dad both raise their placards, it’s a "toss up". As the host is reading out the questions and Mom and Dad are answering, guests are "grading" the paper they have been given by circling each correct answer. The player who guesses the most correct answers wins! Printable Baby Traits Baby Shower Game
Mary Ellen from Charleston, South Carolina wrote in about her experience with playing the Baby Traits Game. Her account was our inspiration for creating this printable baby shower game.
This submission was an entry in our fun monthly contest.
For this shower game, put Mom and Dad back to back, in chairs. Each holds a small poster sign. One side reads "Mom’s." The other side reads "Dad’s".
Join us on facebook. We post the latest contest opportunities to keep you in the loop. Each guest also guesses ahead of time just what Mom and Dad’s answer will be, when asked. The questions on paper for guests will have a check column under "Mom’s" vs. "Dad’s".
(Add any other funny questions you think would be FUN!?) Remember, Mom and Dad are back to back in chairs. They will quickly hold up their answer to each question! It’s so much FUN to see who thinks they should be the one to pass on certain traits. You’ll have so many LAUGHS and added remarks from Mom, Dad, and guests!!! THIS GAME IS SIMPLY A BLAST!!!!!!! It’s by far the best I’ve ever played at a baby shower! Try it. It’s promised to make the best party game EVERRRRRRRRRR !!!!!! Thanks for giving me this opportunity to share the FUN with you !!!! ’Boring baby shower games’ will suddenly become ’a B-L-A-S-T’ -- the hit of the par-ty!!!!! Comments on Baby Traits Shower GameSounds like a lot of fun. It brings DAD into the picture too. I can’t wait to try it at my next baby shower. - Anonymous Great Game - Anonymous Editor's Note: For an all-girls baby shower, you can play this game just as easily by having the mother and the mother-in-law play; the mother-in-law can play on behalf of the father. In cheersallyear's Baby Traits game, we include a column for when both Mom and Dad can't decide. In Mary Ellen's version of this game, Mom and Dad have placards with Mom's on one side and Dad's on the other. They flip their posters indicating who they'd prefer to pass on their genes. In our printable version of this baby shower game, Mom and Dad lift their placards when they think they'd rather pass their traits down. If they prefer the other pass down their heritage, they simply don't raise their placards. Our printable version will allow you to play either way your prefer. More Baby Shower Ideas & Games
