Bridal Shower Games to Play
What's In a Name GameThe "What's In a Name Game" is simple. Type out the first and last names of the bride and groom, using only one letter per line. Use a large pretty font. Print one copy per guest. Pass the sheets out facedown along with pencils or pens. I like the idea of using a because its a great party favor (and people never toss them!). The host explains the object of the game to the guests: Write one word that describes the bride and groom or has to do with weddings or honeymoons for every letter of the names. Guests will have 2 minutes to complete the task after the paper are turned over. The person with the most completed letters wins. The host calls off each letter and the guests reveal what the wrote. I've personally played this game and I find it really funny to see the variety of what people write. Sometimes is straight forward like "w" is for "wedding" and sometimes is quite creative like "x" is for "X chromosome carrier"! Here's how it's played. These short names serve as an example, use full names and middle names to make it longer.
Secret Word GameThis is such a simple game that is complete surprise to the bride. The hostess establishes a secret word and tells each guest the word, but not the bride. As the party goes on the guest who is speaking with the bride when the bride says the secret word wins the game and a prize.The word (or phrase) needs to be somewhat difficult to get the bride to say in conversation but not impossible. Also, using the groom's name as the secret word would too easy as the bride will certainly say his name within the first few minutes of the bridal shower.
