Candyland Party Birthday ThemeDoes your little darling have a sweet tooth? Most kids do, and this lends itself to the perfect setting for a candyland birthday party theme. As parents, we all have a soft spot for our special little loved one. When it comes to their birthday, you want to make it as special as possible.
A candy land party is a great way to celebrate and kid’s birthday party. As long as you don’t mind having a bunch of kids ’sugared up’ at the end of it all, you can carry this out in unique and wonderful ways. So, if you’ve been searching high and low for a theme, consider going for a sweet treat like the candyland party theme and see how much the kids adore it. Candyland Party: Simple and Sweet Decorations As the focus is on candy and other sweet treats, look for whites, reds, oranges and greens - any bright, primary color you can find in a bag of jellybeans. Look for some really cute cupcake and cookie decorations that you can line the tables with. Consider a matching piñata that you can fill with candy and small toys. Brightly colored stuffed animals, giant pinwheels and oversized toys around the area give the party a dreamy, fantasy look straight out of Willy Wonka! For maximum effect, have a candy centerpiece with colorful plates and displays of candies - M&M’s, red hots, giant lollypops, gum balls, candy canes and other goodies. A neat way to present this is to place boxes of different sizes on the table and cover them with a cloth. Add plates of candy to each box to create what looks like "mountains" of candy. Situate this edible decor away from the main eating area, as the purpose is mainly for show. Let everybody know that you will dole everything out as part of their goodie bag. Candyland Party: Building Treats as a Party Activity The central motif for this party is, of course, the sweets. So long as your little darling and their friends are old enough, you can let them decorate their own treats. Bake up in advance some plain, unadorned cookies or cupcakes and pull out all of the confectionery decorations. Set everything on the table and let their imaginations run wild.
Have available different colors of frosting, sprinkles, jelly beans and other candies. Give everyone a mini apron so they don’t mess up their clothing (the parents will appreciate this!) Hand out one blank treat at a time, and watch as they decorate with what’s available. Depending on the number of kids and the time, you can have them decorate a variety of goodies. Once they are done, set everything aside on a counter with each child's name. At the end of the party, you (or a party volunteer) will be wrapping all their goodies up, including the apron they used, as part of their gifts to take home.
Candyland Party: Balance It Out with Other Food Naturally, being the responsible parent you are (grin), you do have to serve up food other than just sweets. Go for a big sub sandwich that you can slice up. Serve fruit and vegetables with dip as well. Drinks can be iced tea or lemonade. You want to be sure you offer a substantial meal so that the kids don't get too bogged down with just sugar. Finally comes the cake. Spare no amount of sugar or sweet touches for it — you could do a cookie cake, ice cream cake, or even a mountain with layers of giant candies on it to go with the theme. There are lots of inventive ways to host this delicious kid’s theme party! Think back to your own childhood and dreams of a land filled with all your goodies, and make it come true for your child. Your guests will definitely go home full, with goodie bags packed with their brightly-colored creations.
