For this party idea, guests can dress as their favorite dead poet and recite poems by their respective poets, as well as share their own poems. Word magnets can be used to create either individual or group poems to share.

Guests can play the "Carpe Diem" version of Truth or Dare. This game would be designed to get guests to reveal what they most want to do in life. If appropriate, turn it into charades and have guests act out their dreams or goals..

Decorations can be used to recreate either the cave or the school from the film.

Shakespearean Themed Party

A Shakespearean Themed Party is similar to the dead poset society party, with a few twists. Guests' costumes would be inspired by medieval, Renaissance Italy, or Elizabethan England Guests would be asked to improvise memorable scenes from popular Shakespeare plays.

Decorations could resemble stage props and backdrops (balcony, castle, dancing/dining hall etc.) or an Elizabethan playhouse.

Wine (for adults) and grape juice (for children) could be served. Couples can attend as Romeo's and Juliet's or Othello's and Desdemona's.

Friends can attend as Mercutio's and Benvolio's or Hamlet's and Horatio's. There could be fake sword fights and a contest for who is able to feign the most tragic death or improvise the best/most Shakespearean last words.
