Adult Costume parties are fun but it's kind of boring to show up in a prepackaged costume, just to find out that someone else wanted to be a pink and black French maid as well.

Instead give your guests the challenge of dressing as dead rock stars or movie stars.

Here's the twist to ensure every costume is different. Guests use their creativity to add the cause of death to the costume. After all, Halloween is supposed to be scary, so bring on the gore.

Dress as any rock star, dead or alive. Then add the bullet wound, bottle of poison, pocket full of weed, axe to the head, rope around the neck, or whatever creative cause of death you can come up with!

Take the theme to the next level. Put the music of the great dead rock stars in your party mix. Also, decorate with tombstones of dead musicians and actors.

Decorations can mimic a Hollywood red carpet party for the Oscars or Grammys and trophies can be given to the best costume, most accurate depiction of death, most popular and so on.

You could choose from a variety of games. Center the games around a dead rock star such as: "Can you wake the comatose Marilyn Monroe?" Have one guest sit or lie down with eyes closed.

Have other guests try to get the "Marilyn" to try to open her eyes by doing any number of things. If "Marilyn" can't be woken then she wins, but if a guest can get "Marilyn" to open her eyes then they win.

Another game could be in honor of Michael Jackson. For this game you will need a large banana and Michael Jackson music.

Start the music. Then have the guests pass around the banana, but only using their legs (no hands). Whoever has the banana last before it falls or when the music stops wins! Hooray.

Of course, drinking games are always a hit at Halloween parties. If you have drinking games here's a Halloween party tip. Be sure to have the number of a local cab service on a post it note next to the phone. Halloween parties, if they're good, can get a little wild and this helps friends who drink make it safely home.

Also, if you're planning a wild Halloween party, make a crash room. That way your rock star friends who don't make it home at all that night have a place to sleep it off 'til their next gig!

Dead Rockstar Party Decoration Ideas

Cobb webs draped everywhere that are lit by the faint illumination of black lights make cool Halloween party decorations. Then be crafty - get cheesecloth drenched in glue and dried to form large hanging ghosts.

Tie your food and drinks to your party theme. Create a unique cocktail drink or use the host or hostess' favorite drink and call it by a different name. For example: "Jerry's Deadly Brew" would really just be a long island iced tea with a new title. Mix a pitcher of this and have it already on hand.

A great idea for an adult Halloween party this year would be a party in memory of Michael Jackson's death. The Thriller party theme is perfect for Halloween

People could dress in any of his famous costumes, or as mummies, zombies and so on.
