Funny Engagement Toasts
(Write a Poetic Toast Together!)
Write really funny engagement toasts -- together at your engagement party -- with this simple game.
At the engagement party, each of the designated bridesmaids or groomsmen gets a turn writing one line of the toast.
The engagement toasts game goes like this:
Start with a lined piece of paper. Have one of the designated groomsmen write a sentence on the top line, as if he's writing a poem: "Dan met Christie and fell head over hills."
Fold the paper from the top so that the sentence can't be seen. A groomsman gives it to a bridesmaid, who writes another sentence: "Christie's a shopper, and Dan just can't stop her!"
The paper is folded again to hide this sentence, and she passes it to the next groomsman.
The paper is continuously folded and a sentence added until all the groomsmen, maids, and parents have given their two cents.
When the bestman gives his engagement toast, he takes this piece of paper and announces that everyone participated in writing an engagement poem.
He reads the sentence on the outside of the folded paper, unfolds the paper and reads the next sentence, then unfolds again and reads the next sentence. Each fold reveals a new statement.
When all of these sentences are combined, what one imagines can seem very funny!
