Auction Party Game

The auction party game is great for an engagement party, bridal shower, holiday party, or even a birthday. There are two different versions:

1. Start by either purchasing a variety inexpensive gifts and party favors such as gag gifts, playing cards, corkscrews, keychain, etc. Mix in a few desirable gifts to add interest to the action. Wrap the gifts creatively to conceal the contents.
2. Have each guest bring an inexpensive gift, re-gift, something funny, or something nice. Set a price limit and ask them to bring it wrapped.

Fill envelopes with random amounts of play money. You can print free play money by following the Party-zine Scene. The download is available on the page that appears after you sign up.

Each guest draws an envelope full of money. Next, host the auction. Select one gift at a time and show it to the players. Guests bid on the gifts without knowing the contents. This is where it gets really interesting. Even if a guest drew an envelope with very few play dollars, they might make out really well.

Everyone ends up with a party favor and has a blast doing it!
