My friend recently had a Hollywood theme birthday party. She had a red carpet leading from the sidewalk to the front door. She went for a retro themed Hollywood party with posters of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe.

Everyone dressed in Hollywood style with many guests dressing as movie stars from the 50, 60s, and 70s.

The best Hollywood party idea was the movie screen she rented. It was like the kind you use for office presentations. She hooked the projector up to her computer. She played old movies. The movie screen really made for an authentic feel. But you could do the same thing on any T.V.

She had nametags for everyone. Guests wrote their name and who they were dressed as on the tags. This was really a good idea because it broke the ice. You could go up to someone and say, "Oh your Tina Faye, or Zsa Zsa Gabor!"

We played charades, which was perfect for this theme. We divided into men and women. Everyone thought this was hilarious.
