Irish Coffee RecipesWe've got a couple of Irish Coffee Recipes you may enjoy, courtesy of our visitors!
Irish 49This Irish Coffee Recipe (submitted by Christalean of San Antonio, Texas) is called the "Irish 49."
Irish Coffee Recipes: Fancy-Shmancy!This recipe for a "authentic" Irish coffee recipe was submitted by Sonja or Fayetteville, Arkansas. This Irish coffee recipe starts with Irish whiskey. You need to heat it in a whiskey glass over a flame (better to use glasses you know can stand the heat) and flambe it. There is a special kit for this as you'll see in the video below (but we haven't found one yet in the US, so you may have to improvise). After the whiskey is heated, add 1 teaspoon of sugar and fill up your glass with warm strong coffee. After that you float half whipped cream on top. The trick is to get the density of the coffee high enough so that the cream says on top. Enjoy! There's a simpler Irish Coffee Recipe below. Editor's Note: The Irish Coffee is always a classic. In this video from our guest visitor, Sonja, see how you can make an Irish coffee into a winter ritual. Real whipped cream makes it that much more special. It might take a little extra effort, but it's actually less expensive than prewhipped cream. You shouldn't skip the flambe. It gives this recipe a unique flavor ... plus it's a great light show!
