• Monkey Around Relay Race: This is a true challenge, but very funny for on lookers.

  Divide your guests into two groups. Create a starting point and line each team up behind the starting point.

  The object of the game is simple. One child at a time runs from the start line around a man made obstacle, say 20 feet away, and back the the start line. When the player arrives at the start line the next player begins. The first team to have all players run around the obstacle and return home wins.

  Of course, there's a catch! It wouldn't be 'monkey business' otherwise!

  The catch is simple: each player must run the race with a bananas held between his or her knees. If the player drops the bananas the player must begin from the start line once again. Now, depending on the group playing, you could be flexible with this rule. This jungle party game is a sure laugh fest!
• Pinata Game: Pinatas are a hit at any children's party. The anticipation of what's inside is almost too much to take!

  Bonus: pinatas double as a game and a party decoration. It's easy fun!

The easiest (and least expensive) way to pull a theme together is with a premade safari party kit that includes things like animal and safari themed plates, napkins, and decorations. These kits are a great place to start. Add as many details such as party favors that you're comfortable with.

Adults hosting the party can get into the action by dressing as safari guides with khaki outfits and pith hats. Encourage kids to dress the part too.

Why not stick with the theme and serve a cake in the shape of an animal?! Or, keep it simple and serve every little monkey's favorite treat: bananas splits with Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey ice cream...oh, delicious!
