Since we live in a neighborhood where the homes are too far apart for easy trick-or-treating, we like to have a Halloween party instead.
This submission was an entry in one of our fun monthly contests.
I invite both kids and parents to the party. The party is held outside. We decorate with lots of fun outdoor lighting. You can use jack-o-lanterns, tiki torches, and white paper lunch bags filled with sand and tea light candles.
Like our facebook page for updates on new contest opportunities. Another fun Halloween party decoration is to use old mason jars with holes poked in the lids to hold tea light candles.
The Trick or Treat Game for KidsThe trick-or-treat game for kids is just like an Easter egg hunt but with one big difference - we do it when it's dark outside. The kids love, love, love this!If your yard is really large and you don't have enough lighting, I think it would be a neat idea to put glow sticks around your hidden treats to help kids find them. But with enough torches and jack-o-lanterns it's not necessary. Flashlights are a great party favor for the kids and help with the hunt. I provide the trick-or-treat bags so the kids can gather what they find. I like to hide both candy and small toys. I always have tons of plastic eggs lying around from Easter (I like to get double the use out of them). But I also use little plastic sandwich bags with ribbon tied around the top to keep the treats safe from bugs. Since the game is played outside, hot cider and smores made on the fire pit are a must to finish off this fun night! More Kids Halloween Party Ideas
