Newlywed Twist Party Game

Newlywed Twist Party Game was submitted by Sylvia of San Franciso, CA in one of our party game ideas contests.

This is a couples' party game and works best for 5 to 6 couples (or more). It's similar to the newlywed game and great for an engagement party game. Everyone can stay in the room at the same time.

Have poker chips ready to keep points. Only one color is necessary. One chip will be won for each correct answer.

Prepare a questionnaire of 20 questions from innocent to racy depending on your comfort level with guests. Stick to questions that don't have "yes-no" answers.

Questions could be: What's your mate's favorite color? If your mate were a car, what type of car would they be? What's your significant other's favorite food? Where would your mate want to travel to on vacation if money were no option?

If there are 6 couples then you'll have 12 questionnaires. Have everyone fill in their questionnaires "private-ballot" style and place the pages face down.

Then the host or hostess will shuffle the pages without looking and then cut the questions apart. Note: you could print questions on pre-perforated business card stock and then they could be easily divided without getting out the scissors.

Place the questions in a hat. The 12 people would sit around in a circle taking turns selecting a card from the hat. The individual to the right of the card-drawer plays first. He guesses who the answer is referring to - not who wrote the answers. If the answer on the card is incorrect, guests can laugh about the true answer. But no one wins and the card is discarded.

Play passes to the right. If the person to the right of the card-drawer guesses correctly, both THIS person and the person who WROTE the answer on the card get a chip.

After all the cards are played, chips are added up and a winner declared.
