Ground Beef Taco Recipe
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 Easy Taco Season Packet Recipe or Store Purchased Packet
Brown the ground beef in a cast iron skillet. Remove the beef and
drain the fat; set aside momentarily. Do not wipe the skillet clean.
Saute the diced onion and bell pepper in the same skillet. When the
onions have turned translucent, return the ground beef and add the
tomato and taco seasoning mix.
Add one or two tablespoons of water to
help distribute the seasoning mix. Stir all ingredients well and cook
until everything is throughly heated.
Serve the ground beef in either soft or hard taco shells and a variety
of taco toppings of your choice. Typical taco toppings include salsa,
homemade guacamole, cheese, diced onions and tomatoes, shredded cilantro,
shredded lettuce, and black olives.
