Barbie in Her Box Costume: Unique Halloween CostumesSubmitted by Lisa Marie of La Habra, CA
This submission was an entry in our Halloween Costume Contest.
I always try to do something original so that I can stand out and this Barbie costume was perfect.
Join us on facebook for updates on the next Halloween Costume Contest Opportunity! First, I googled it to see if anyone else had done it before. And I found a few, so I just made mine better. I started off with a wardrobe box. I had to open it so that I can fit in it and display my accessories. I am a former art student so everything is painted by hand. I tried to put as much detail in it to make it look as real as possible. I also added shoulder and waist straps so that I can walk around hands free. The dress was also made by hand because I couldn't find one that was "Barbie" enough. Then I put on a wig and dolled myself up as much as I could. I was a hit at every party I attended. The only issue was bumping into people because I couldn't see anything around me! and of course the little girls adored it! Editor's Note: What an Artistic Barbie Costume! We've seen the Barbie in a Box costume, but this one takes the tiara for one of the most unique Halloween costumes out there! Find more adult costume ideas on the Halloween Costumes Ideas page.

Duct Tape Iron Man 2: Unique Halloween CostumesSubmitted by Johnny R of San Pedro, CA USA
I had at LEAST 20 people wanting to take pictures of my suit with them.. So look out on myspace or facebook soon. Everybody loved the idea that it was a homemade costume, and the creativity behind it. Even the non die-hard fans knew exactly who I was and loved the outfit. It was an amazing night and in spite of my friends having to leave early before the contest, I still had the cheers and support of the entire place. Ever wonder if Ironman was really that flexible when fighting? The answer is NO. I made this WarMachine suit (from the movie Ironman 2) entirely out of duct tape. You'd think duct tape would be easier to carry around? It is, but it gets REALLY hot. Ok, this is also because I added some cardboard padding and used football shoulder gear to add structure, but it is no picnic. This has been the best costume I've made so far. The body suit was purchased at a Halloween store along with the mask. This was held together by Velcro. Since the padding was too much in the arms, I modified it so that I may fit my own armored creation. The suit allowed for a more realistic under armor. The suit is composed of some old sporting gears and a lot of duct tape. Cardboard was used to structure the body parts, followed by duct tape to make sure it molds and sticks together. I used movie stills to get an idea of what it looks like. There was no measuring or schematics involved, just the good 'ol eye and estimating. The arc reactor is actually two mini click-on lights with red marker on the plastic to make it glow that color. I gutted the dim night light and added a smaller LED light inside. I used the dim night light's switch to make it an exterior switch so that I may power on and off. A laser pointer is attached to the gauntlet and on my right side, I duct taped my cell phone so it looks like a communicator device. Let's see what happens next year!
Editor's Note:This is one of the most unique Halloween costumes we've seen with duct tape! And yes, we can't wait to see what Johnny comes up with next year! For more very creative costume ideas from visitors see the Halloween Costume Ideas page.

The Beast Brothers CostumesSubmitted by Anthony of Warner Robins, Georgia![]() These are my teenage boys' costumes for Halloween 2010. The costumes are completely hand made by their mother and I. They're made from found items and fabric remnants. The costumes are wired for lights in the eyes and sounds through speakers mounted in the heads. These costumes took us about 2 weeks of serious hand sewn crafting. Even the gloves were hand sewn from fabric remnants. Hope you like them! Editor's Note:Talk about creative costume ideas! These costumes are fantastic.

Rock Paper Scissors! Unique Halloween CostumesSubmitted by Courtney Richards of Normal, IL USA

This submission was an entry in our fun monthly contest.
These are 100 percent homemade costumes! Everyone loved it!
You too can submit for a chance to win Cash Prizes by visiting our Contest Page. The rock was made out of foam and then spray painted silver and sparkles. It is held up by sequined straps from any craft store and underneath is sequin material tied on the sides. For the paper we took a large sized white foam cardboard and painted blue and pink stripes on it. On the back of the paper we painted "Kick Me." The scissors was also cut out of the white foam cardboard and thin silver and pink cardboard was glued over the white. We added sparkle spray paint to everything and used large sparkles to jazz it up! All night scissors chased around paper attempting to "cut" and rock crushed scissors. Don't worry paper toppled over rock quite a bit too!
Editor's Note:Man, this is funny! What a great group costume idea!Want your own unique Halloween costumes, but don't have time to create one like this? See our Halloween Costume Ideas page for tons of inspiration.
Once Upon a Time...Unique Halloween CostumesSubmitted by Jasmine of Spokane, WA
![]() On the way there, she ran into a BEAR!! She was so startled that she started to run but what she didn't realize was that she was running in place.
This submission was an entry in our Halloween Costume Contest.
The bear had a hold of the hood of her jacket. The bear grabbed her and gave her a BIG hug. He told her "no reason to be scared. I just want to be your friend." She smiled and with no hesitation, she gave him a high five and they walked to grandmas house together. Grandma was, of course, startled to see a bear at her front door but a friend of little red riding hoods was a friend of hers. So she put in her dentures and started to share the sweets with the bear (who definitely had some honey) and little red (who absolutely loves truffles.) There's no moral to this story at all. Just written in hopes the readers would be entertained!
Editor's Note:Thanks for entertaining us...any story with chocolate truffles get our attention!
Stephen King's Carrie Scary Halloween Costume IdeaSubmitted by Cristen Jordan of Highland Springs, VA
Then I'll poor fake blood all over the dress to make it look like a bucket of pig blood has been poured on myself.
This submission was an entry in our Halloween Costume Contest.
I'll have a tiara and a corsage to top off the costume. There will be blood running through my hair and down my face and arms. There will be gel in my hair to help with the wet look of blood.
I might add a pole in the back of the costume to hold a bucket of "blood" that is pouring on my head. Here's a picture of what my costume will look like from the movie 'Carrie'. Editor's Note:For more costume ideas from scary to funny, visit the adult Halloween costume ideas page.
